Is it possible to grow up in Malibu and not go Hollywood? It is if you are Brandon Jenner & Leah Felder. These singers-songwriters have known each other since they were kids and started performing together in their teens. With Leah front and center, the duo began honing in on their acoustic pop style inspired by their time surfingand singing on bonfire-lit beaches to the sounds of Bob Marley and Ben Harper.
Now, as recording artists in their own right, Brandon & Leah's music captures the balmy summertime spirit of their hometown. Their upcoming new album--which the duo wrote and produced--showcases their fun, bright sound. Both Brandon & Leah love what they call 'beachy' music. According to Brandon, their sound is entirely groove based. "We like things with a positive, beach vibe. If our songs don't make you want to bob your head, then we haven't done our job."
That explains the album's first track and debut single, Life Happens. The upbeat song made an impressive debut on MTV's "Buzzworthy" leaping to a quick 250,000 views. Momentum for Life Happens continues to grow in anticipation of the single getting radio traction later this month.
Although Brandon & Leah each grew up in famous families--they didn't take a shortcut to bright lights of the Sunset Strip. [Brandon's father is Bruce Jenner and his step-father is Grammy award winning producer, David Foster. Meanwhile, Leah's dad is Don Felder, best known for his work as lead guitarist and songwriter for the Eagles]. Instead, Brandon & Leah have independently paved their own way while carving out a unique niche with their upbeat tempos and lyrics. "We can't wait on anyone to say yes," says Leah, "we're responsible for our own future."
