Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
*         Does all content submitted to the Thought Leadership Initiative need to be approved? What are the criteria for acceptance?

Yes, all content will be reviewed and approved by the Club within 48 hours of submission. Content that includes inappropriate language or is viewed as sales pitches (rather than value-added thought leadership) will be returned to you for changes.  Your posting time period begins only after your content is actually posted on the CMO Club site.

*            I have a case study I’d like to post, but the company that is the subject of the study would like to remain anonymous – can I still submit it? What if the company wants to mask specific numbers and results?
You may submit content with the company name removed: just adjust the content to reflect the company’s anonymity and include key information, such as the company’s industry, size, market position, etc. You can also mask results, but realize that the most factual and precise content is likely to have greater impact and credibility among the CMO Club membership.

*            Does the CMO endorsement need to be for this specific case study or can it be a general endorsement of our company? Should the CMO expect to be contacted?
The endorsement does not have to be from the CMO of the company directly associated with the content you are submitting.  The endorsement must be from a CMO associated with a current customer.

The CMO offering the endorsement will not necessarily be contacted. A member of the CMO Club, however, may ask you for the endorser’s contact information.

*            What type of content can be submitted? Can I read a description somewhere?
The Thought Leadership Content Directory was created to offer members new insights and ideas in the form of case studies and white papers.  There is no specific list of acceptable content beyond this description.  Obvious sales tools or sales pitches, however, are not advisable:  readers are likely to post comments for other members to see, and you may negative impact your reputation and participation as a result.

*            Does the PDF I submit have to follow a certain format?
No.  As long as you follow the summary sections headers as required for submission.  CMOs will search and review these prior to selecting a piece of content to read or download.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - continued:

*            How will the CMO Club ensure that my content is posted and ready for review?
The Club will take a number of steps to ensure that members are aware of your post, including a quarterly inclusion in our weekly eNewsletter to the member base; a bi-monthly call-out in a separate post featured in the Blog or News section of the site; each piece of approved content will receive its own micro-site page that will include all your summary information and links to your PDF and website for follow-up; CMOs will have the ability to comment on all content posted, which will help create an even larger audience for your submission; and you will receive quarterly feedback consisting of all the comments members have posted pertaining to your content.

*            You are asking for contact information in case a member would like to follow up.  Is it ok to provide a company toll-free number?
Yes, but you may wish to provide the name and number of a contact who will be able to engage in a CMO-level conversation about your company and its services.  You don’t want to let a contact from a CMO Club member fall through the cracks.

*            Will you provide me with the names and contact information of the CMO Club members who have reviewed my content?
For confidentiality reasons, no.  However, we encourage you to review the quarterly comments you will be receiving, and to provide a simple and compelling call to action as part of the summary information featured on your micro-site page.  We will also ensure that each CMO that reviews a study receive your contact information in a timely manner.

*            Will you let me know when my posting period is about to expire? How can I renew? What are your renewal prices?
The CMO Club will email you prior to your expiration date to let you know that it is time to renew.  If you do renew, standard 2-, 4- and 12-month rates will be applied.  Purchasing longer time periods is a way to reduce the per-month expense.
